- Played the flute in high school and HAS gone to band camp.
- Went to Los Altos High School
- Went to UCSD (University of California, San Diego) and got a Bachelors of Science in Bio Chemistry with a double minor in Chinese Studies and Healthcare-Social Issues
- Graduated from Columbia University (in New York City) at the top of her class with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy
- Started swing dancing after moving back to California (around March of 1998). Was exposed to swing dancing in San Francisco at the Hi-Ball Lounge by her high school friend Grace Kim.
- Is a lightweight when it comes to alcohol
